Arnold Schwarzenegger signs up to new action comedy

Arnold Schwarzenegger looks no closer to making The Legend Of Conan or Triplets from where we’re sitting, as whilst those two projects stumble along in limbo, he’s taking on a different action comedy instead. Taran Killam, of Saturday Night Live fame, is making his directorial debut with Why We’re Killing Gunther, based on a screenplay that he wrote himself. He’s also going to co-star in the film along with The Avengers’ Cobie Smulders, and Arnold Schwarzenegger fits in as Gunther, described as ‘the world’s greatest hitman’. It’ll be Arnie’s first full-on comedy role since 1996’s Junior, and production on Why We’re Killing Gunther is set to kick off this June. We’d expect a release next year.
